Being that we are still in the summer. Ministry is still looking rather slow. That being said, they are picking up very fast as we move into August. In spite of COVID-19, we have big plans for the welcome week at UTD. One thing that I will be specifically helping with, is our daily Q&As on twitch (which if you are available at 3pm every weekday from August 10-14, feel free to join at twitch.tv/utdfocus) which we really hope will give students a way to find out who we are and what we are doing. We have been making flyers and signs to be posted around campus so that students have a way to see what is going on since they will be on a campus with no in-person events. Because my role is in the process of shifting to a more administrative one, I have gotten to do a lot of work on these advertisements, which is very cool to me! I studied design while I attended UTD, and to get to use skills I learned there to turn around and reach students is really neat. Please pray for our outreach especially this year. Obviously, it is important every year to reach students, but now more than ever given the state of our world. These students need a light in their life and some kind of connection.
Other than the impending school year, we did have another exciting thing happen towards the end of the month. on the last Thrusday of the month, we were able to have an outdoor, socially distanced service with a bunch of our students in attendance. The weather was so nice too which was a huge blessing to all those in attendance. We as a ministry hadn't had in-person services like that since March, and so to be able to have a safe method for doing so was such a huge deal. Here are some images from that:
Like I said before, please pray for us as we prepare for our outreach to the new students at UTD. Also, keep me in your prayers as I work toward completing my fundraising. I still have about $600 a month that I need to raise, and it while difficult, is definitely a possible feat. Since I don't have a ton to say this month, I will attach a testimony from one of our students in the Richland Ministry.
